The Battalion was activated on 1 April 1963 in Germany. The battalion was relieved from the 8th Infantry Division and inactivated in Germany, 1 April 1963. Organized 21 May 1917 at Camp Robinson, Wisconsin. On 13 January 1941, the battalion was reorganized and redesignated as Battery C, 16th Field Artillery Battalion.
